The 51st One Act Festival was held this year at The Theatre Royal, Ramsbottom and our thanks got to everyone at The Theatre Royal for their support in making the Festival possible. We saw 21 very varied plays during the course of the week and the winners are listed below, please click on the read more link. So....many congratulations to all you winners and thank you to all the other entrants to the Festival which made it such an interesting and enjoyable week of theatre. The 52nd One Act Festival will be held at Brookdale Theatre, Bramhall 11th - 16th June 2012.

SECTION A: (up to 14 years of age)

Andrew Winton Trophy – Best Production  ~ Summerseat Players (Youth) for their production of "OMG"

Brenda Gillatt Trophy – Best Performance  ~ James Williams for his performance of George in the Summerset Players (Youth) production of "OMG"

Certificate of Merit – either production or performance  ~ Harriet Dawson for her performances in the Summerseat Players (Youth) production of "OMG"

SECTION B: (15 to 21 Years of age)

Nan Nuttall Trophy – Best Production   ~  "I read the news today" – Brookdale Theatre

Bertram Holland Trophy – Best Performance  ~ Edward Ashley for Ross in the Brookdale Theatre’s production of "I read the news today"

Certificate of Merit – either production or performance  ~ Mossley AODs for their production of "Bang Bang You’re Dead"

SECTION C: (Adult)

Settlement Players Trophy – Best Production  ~  "Blind Date" – Hyde Little Theatre

Stanley Harrower Cup – Best Performance ~ Tracy Burns for Cornelia Scott in the Chads Theatre Co’s production of "Something Unspoken"

Certificate of Merit – either production or performance  ~ Summerseat Players – "The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish"

SECTION D

Best Original Play   (Playwrights Trophy)  ~  "OMG" written by Paul Bracewell and performed by Summerseat Players Youth

Vicki Lane Award (Meritorious Director)  ~ Carla Stokes for the Hyde Little Theatre’s production of "Blind Date"

Robert L Goodwin Trophy – (Outstanding Actor)  ~ Roger Boardman for Jonathan in the Hyde Little Theatre’s production of "Blind Date"

Cyril V Hines Trophy (Outstanding Actress)  ~ Emily Redfern for Josh in the Mossley AODS’ production of "Bang Bang You’re Dead"

Julie Emmanuel Trophy (Best comedy performance)  ~ Alison Bowers for Wendy in the Hyde Little Theatre’s production of "Blind Date"

Cliff Walker Trophy (Best Presentation)  ~ Hyde Little Theatre for their production of "Blind Date"
