What the One Act Festival is all about PDF Print E-mail

The One-Act Play Festival is a competitive festival of one-act plays. The plays are presented over a week in the evenings as well as a Saturday afternoon and are judged by an independent adjudicator who gives a verbal adjudication of the presented plays each evening after the last play. A written adjudication is also available on request for a fee of £12.

It is a fun and friendly festival to enter, we have a Junior section for cast members up tp 14 years, a Youth section for cast members up to 15 - 21 years, an Adult section and an Original play section. So as you can see something for everyone. If your society doesn't usually enter the One Act Festival, why not consider giving it a go? You will be made very welcome and at the end of the day it's good experience all round.

As you can see from the poster below we are now in our 51st year of the One Act Festival and continue to go from strength to strength. So why not get involved either as part of the crew or as we have just suggested.....how about putting on a play? The 2011 Festival application forms and full details / rules of entry etc are avaliable to download form the next page in this section of the website. In the meantime if you wish to know anything more at all about the One Act Festival please contact the One Act Festival Secretary Paul Cohen on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
